The Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Mines confirmed that the upcoming bidding round, “Algeria Bid Round 2026,” which the National Agency for the Valorization of Hydrocarbon Resources (ALNAFT) is preparing to launch, represents a significant step that will open a “new era of opportunities” in hydrocarbon exploration and development.
In a statement released on social media on Saturday evening, the ministry noted that ALNAFT is preparing to launch the 2026 Algerian bidding round, opening new horizons for exploration and development through some of the most promising opportunities in the global hydrocarbon sector, alongside world-class assets.
The ministry added that further details will be revealed soon, as Algeria moves forward with exploiting new potential, strengthening strategic partnerships, and shaping the future of the country’s hydrocarbon sector development.
It is worth noting that “Algeria Bid Round 2024,” the results of which were announced in June 2025, resulted in companies of various nationalities winning licenses for hydrocarbon exploration in five regions.
The launch of “Algeria Bid Round 2024,” the first of its kind since 2014, was part of an extensive program in which ALNAFT identified 17 hydrocarbon projects to be offered for investment through a series of rounds directed at international institutions.
