Algeria and Turkey have signed a series of landmark economic agreements during the Algeria-Turkey Business Forum held Thursday in Ankara, on the sidelines of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s official state visit to Turkey.
The forum was co-chaired by Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion Kamel Rezig and Turkish Trade Minister Ömer Bolat, with the participation of senior officials, business operators, and investment agency representatives from both nations.
Speaking exclusively to dzwatch, Minister Rezig stressed the importance of reaching the ambitious target of $10 billion in bilateral trade volume, calling it a strategic priority for both governments.
Both ministers confirmed their commitment to expanding investments and preparing for the signing of a preferential trade agreement between Algeria and Turkey, while also developing cooperation in promising sectors including renewable energy, banking, agriculture, and infrastructure.
Participants expressed strong political will to elevate economic ties to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership.
