Algeria Strengthens Green Growth Partnership with GGGI and Former UN Chief Ban Ki-moon

Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, held significant bilateral discussions in Seoul with former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. The meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the Africa-Korea Partnership Ministerial Meeting, focused on enhancing cooperation between Algeria and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI).

During the talks, Attaf and Ban Ki-moon, who also chairs the GGGI Assembly and Council, explored avenues to strengthen their partnership. This is particularly relevant in light of Algeria's upcoming membership in the international organization in August 2025. Discussions centered on critical areas such as environmental protection, sustainable development, and the energy transition.

Furthermore, the two officials addressed the preparations for an upcoming visit by Mr. Ban Ki-moon to Algeria. This visit is anticipated to inject new momentum into the Algeria-GGGI cooperation, aiming to uncover fresh opportunities for collaboration in fields of mutual interest and reinforce Algeria's commitment to green growth initiatives.
