Algeria Advances Scientific Expertise and Technology Transfer Through High-Level Dialogue

The Algerian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamal Badari, recently held a significant meeting in Algiers with Professor Nordine Mellouki, a distinguished Algerian physicist. Professor Mellouki is also recognized as a founding member and the Vice-Coordinator of the High Council for the National Scientific Community Abroad. This high-level discussion focused on crucial strategies to strengthen Algeria's scientific and technological capabilities.

During their encounter, the primary agenda revolved around exploring avenues to reinforce and localize technology transfer within the country's strategic sectors. The discussions emphasized the importance of benefiting from modern experiences and expertise, aiming to foster innovation and further develop national competencies. Professor Mellouki, drawing on his role within the High Council, also addressed the ongoing work of the Council in fulfilling its assigned tasks, underscoring its commitment to leveraging the diaspora's scientific contributions.

A key outcome of the meeting was the presentation of a comprehensive plan of action designed to create academic mobility for both professors and students. This initiative seeks to establish dynamic exchanges between the schools of the “Martyr Abdelhafid Ihaddadene” Scientific and Technological Hub in Sidi Abdellah, Algeria, and UMass University in the United States of America. Such collaborations are poised to significantly contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge and practical skills within Algeria.
