Presidential Programs Drive Tiaret’s Irrigation Leap

Tiaret province has achieved significant progress in its irrigation sector, a development confirmed by Minister of Water Resources, Lounas Bouzegza. During a working and inspection visit to the province, Minister Bouzegza attributed this qualitative leap to the comprehensive development programs initiated by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

These presidential programs aim to ensure the equitable distribution of water resources, mobilize available water, and diversify its sources. The initiatives are designed to bolster Algeria's water security and guarantee the sustainability of public water services across the region.

Minister Bouzegza underscored the urgent need to accelerate the completion of ongoing projects, bringing them into service within their designated timelines. He emphasized the importance of strengthening water resources and expanding irrigated areas, especially given Tiaret's predominantly agricultural nature. The minister also highlighted the continued efforts to improve sanitation services, valorize treated water, and reuse it, primarily for agricultural irrigation, which supports sustainable agricultural development and resource conservation.

Acknowledging the positive developments, Minister Bouzegza commended the substantial gains realized across various municipalities within the province. He praised the dedicated efforts of sector executives, national institutions, and local authorities, whose work is crucial in accompanying Tiaret's dynamic growth in agriculture and industry.
