Public Works Ministry Directs National Road Network Assessment

Algeria's Ministry of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure has initiated a comprehensive process to diagnose the national road network. Minister Abdelkader Djellaoui chaired a coordination meeting to follow up on and evaluate the progress of these diagnostic operations across all segments of the national territory. This meeting, which specifically addressed sections not yet covered by technical expertise, follows a recent remote session held on August 4 with public works directors from various wilayas, focusing on national maintenance status and the implementation of relevant instructions.

During the meeting, a detailed presentation outlined the current condition of national, wilaya, and highway networks. This included a technical diagnosis of their status, particularly highlighting areas requiring immediate intervention, as well as the condition of technical structures. The presentation also detailed the progress of technical expertise operations conducted on several road sections and structures, and the resulting findings. These outcomes are crucial for identifying recorded discrepancies and establishing priorities for necessary interventions.
