Interior Minister Sayoud, Omani Ambassador Discuss Transport Cooperation Expansion

Algerian Interior Minister Saïd Sayoud held discussions on Thursday with Oman's Ambassador to Algeria, Saif bin Nasser bin Rashid Al Bada'ei, at the Government Palace. The high-level meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and broadening partnership areas, specifically within the vital transport sector. This engagement underscores the growing dynamism in Algerian-Omani relations, reflecting both nations' commitment to developing their ties into practical collaborations and joint ventures.

During the meeting, Minister Sayoud welcomed Ambassador Al Bada'ei and his delegation, commending the regular exchange visits between officials as a crucial factor in cementing fraternal relations and fostering joint coordination. A significant point of discussion was the Memorandum of Understanding recently signed between Air Algérie and Oman Airports, aimed at enhancing cooperation in air services, including ground handling. The Minister praised this agreement as a qualitative addition to Algerian-Omani air transport cooperation, anticipating it will facilitate further exchange of expertise and experiences.

Minister Sayoud emphasized Algeria's strong commitment to developing cooperation frameworks with friendly nations, with the goal of elevating bilateral relations to wider scopes. He highlighted the positive trajectory of Algerian-Omani relations, driven by the shared will of both countries' leaderships, and called for expanding the partnership to encompass various modes of transport. This expansion seeks to unlock new investment opportunities, facilitate knowledge exchange, and translate shared political aspirations into tangible agreements and projects that serve the mutual interests of both nations and their peoples.

Ambassador Al Bada'ei, for his part, commended the robust level of relations between Algiers and Muscat, affirming that both countries share a unified vision guided by their respective leaderships. He also acknowledged the existing cooperation, particularly in air transport, and expressed gratitude for the facilitations provided by Algerian authorities to Omani delegations. Concluding the meeting, both parties reiterated the importance of ongoing consultation, coordination, and reinforced bilateral cooperation across all transport fields, aiming to open broader horizons for the Algerian-Omani partnership.
