Saïda Province Adopts Digital Water Management System
Saïda province has commenced the digitalization of its potable water management, with the Minister of Hydraulics, Lounès Bouzegza, launching remote control technology during an inspection visit. The minister stated that digital transformation in potable water service management is an urgent necessity, marking Saïda's experience as a concrete step in this national digitalization process for water services.
This new technology is designed to significantly improve the monitoring of installations and water reservoirs, facilitate remote control of various equipment, and enable the rapid detection of anomalies and intervention. It will provide precise and instantaneous control over all data related to hydraulic networks and installations, specifically addressing leaks, technical failures, and the monitoring of reservoir levels and distribution operations.
The digital system is expected to streamline appropriate decision-making and accelerate interventions in the field to rectify malfunctions promptly. Furthermore, adopting this remote management system will transition the approach from reactive intervention after failures occur to proactive management. This proactive method relies on continuous monitoring of indicators and data analysis, allowing for interventions before dysfunctions escalate, thereby ensuring the uninterrupted continuity of public water services. The technology is planned for progressive generalization across national water distribution networks.
