Air Algérie Launches New Direct Shanghai Route

Air Algérie, the national airline, has announced the launch of a new direct air route connecting Algiers with Shanghai, China. This addition expands the airline's presence in China, making Shanghai its third destination in the country, alongside Beijing and Guangzhou. The new long-haul service is scheduled to commence its inaugural flight from Algiers on October 26, with reservations now available.

The new route will operate three times per week, with flights departing from Algiers every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Air Algérie will utilize an Airbus A330-900neo from its recently acquired fleet for these flights, reinforcing its modern fleet capabilities. Travelers have been able to book tickets for this new connection since August 13, according to specialized air route platform AeroRoutes.

The outbound flight, AH3082, is scheduled to depart Algiers at 13:00, arriving in Shanghai the following day. For the return journey, flight AH3083 will depart Shanghai at midday, landing in Algiers on the same day by 20:00. The establishment of this direct line is part of Air Algérie's broader strategy to develop its international network and strengthen the position of Algiers international airport as a significant regional hub, facilitating connections between Africa and the global network.
