Youth Innovation Event Promotes Sustainable Business Ideas
A national event focused on entrepreneurship and innovation for the vocational training and education sector has concluded in Algeria. The initiative emphasized transforming innovative ideas into viable and sustainable economic activities, aiming to support young people and enhance their contribution to the national economic dynamic. This comprehensive program was undertaken under the direct guidance and impulse of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
Overseen by the Minister of Vocational Training and Education, Nassima Arhab, and organized in cooperation with the "Injaz Algeria" association, the event served as a practical implementation of the sector's strategy to facilitate youth entry into the job market, whether through employment or the creation of new enterprises. A competition was central to the event, seeing 356 trainees from more than 20 training institutes participate over six months, receiving extensive training in managing and promoting startups. Out of 48 participating teams, 12 qualified for the final stage, presenting diverse projects in fields such as cybersecurity, tourism, health, and energy, with several reaching the prototype development phase.
Minister Arhab underscored that participating teams developed solutions addressing real-world problems pertinent to their professional fields and customer needs. She stressed that a project's success is linked not only to its innovative concept but also to its capacity to meet an actual need, secure funding, and ensure long-term sustainability. The Minister also emphasized the critical importance of continuing support for these projects beyond the competition, particularly those that reached the final stage, to ensure their successful implementation and transformation from ideas into enduring activities.
Rima Azzouz, Vice President of the "Injaz Algeria" association, commented that the event marked a significant milestone in cultivating a culture of initiative and entrepreneurship among graduates of vocational training and education. The experience illuminated the substantial potential of young Algerians to translate their knowledge and skills into practical solutions and projects that effectively address contemporary challenges within their environment.
