Government Sustains Farmer Compensation in Fire-Hit Wilayas

Compensation operations for farmers affected by forest fires are actively continuing across the wilayas of Jijel and Béjaïa. These vital efforts are being carried out under the guidance of local authorities and strictly adhere to directives issued by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at ensuring comprehensive support and indemnification for all those impacted by the natural disaster. The initiative also embodies the specific instructions from Minister of Interior, Local Communities and Urban Planning, Saïd Sayoud.
The ongoing program focuses on providing in-kind compensation to help farmers revive their operations and support the local economy. In the wilaya of Jijel, a significant part of this effort has seen the arrival of three consecutive shipments of cattle, delivered directly to affected farmers. This targeted aid is designed to bolster livestock populations and stimulate agricultural activity in the regions that suffered damage from the fires.
Similarly, in the wilaya of Béjaïa, the initial phase of distributing in-kind compensation has commenced within the municipality of Ouzellaguene. This process is being diligently supervised by both local and agricultural services, ensuring efficient and fair distribution. Plans are already in place for the operation to extend its reach in the coming days, encompassing all remaining eligible beneficiaries across the wilaya.
These comprehensive measures underscore the government's commitment to the field monitoring of care operations for affected farmers. They are designed to accelerate compensation procedures and provide sustained accompaniment, which is crucial for the swift restoration of agricultural activity and the broader economic recovery of the areas impacted by the devastating fires.
