FAVB Honored for Contributions to African Volleyball

The African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) has bestowed its 2026 National Federations' Excellence Award upon the Algerian Volleyball Federation (FAVB). This prestigious honor recognizes the FAVB's remarkable performances and significant achievements within the sport, positioning Algeria among a select group of national federations celebrated across the continent.

The "Prix d'Excellence" specifically highlights the major accomplishments and contributions made by the Algerian federation to the overall development of African volleyball. Algeria was one of eleven national federations to receive this top distinction, alongside nations such as Cameroon, Egypt, Kenya, Libya, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tunisia, and DR Congo, as announced by the CAVB in a statement on its social media platforms.

This recognition further underscores Algeria's growing stature in African volleyball, building on recent successes such as the men's national team's qualification for the 2027 World Championship in Poland. The team secured its spot after a decisive 3-0 victory against Morocco (25-19, 25-21, 25-18) in the third-place match of the 2026 African Nations Championship held in Tunis, showcasing the federation's effective efforts in maintaining and developing the discipline at both national and continental levels.
