Kuwait Expresses Interest in Algerian Medicines

Ouacim Kouidri, Algeria's Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, recently held discussions with Nawaf Dhaidan Boushaibah, the Ambassador of Kuwait to Algeria, in Algiers. The meeting focused on exploring avenues to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two nations within the pharmaceutical sector, highlighting opportunities for Algerian drugmakers to supply the Kuwaiti market.
During the meeting, the Kuwaiti Ambassador conveyed his country's keen interest in the advancements Algeria has achieved in its pharmaceutical industry. He specifically requested a comprehensive list of essential medicines produced locally and available for export. This request aims to facilitate a thorough evaluation of opportunities to supply the Kuwaiti market with Algerian pharmaceutical products.
In response, Minister Kouidri underscored the importance of preparing a cooperation agreement between the Algerian National Agency for Pharmaceutical Products and its Kuwaiti counterpart. Such an agreement is intended to establish mechanisms for the mutual recognition of drug registrations and to simplify the procedures for registering pharmaceutical products in both countries. This strategic step is expected to streamline trade exchanges and enhance the presence of Algerian pharmaceutical products in the Kuwaiti market, in accordance with existing regulations and legislation in both nations.
