This initiative aims to foster genuine democracy and expand the powers of elected officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the opening session of the Government-Walis meeting under the theme &#8220;Local Communities, the Engine of National Development,&#8221; the President emphasized the vital role of local governance as the cornerstone of the state.
