The Algerian cycling team (men and women) secured five medals (1 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze) on the third day of the Arab Track Cycling Championship, currently being held in Cairo, Egypt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The gold medal was won by the duo Anas Riyahi<\/strong> and Mohamed Hamzaoui<\/strong> in the “Madison” event for the U23<\/strong> category. The two silver medals were claimed by Anas Riyahi<\/strong>, Abdelhamid Cherhabil<\/strong>, and Salah Hamzioui<\/strong> in the Olympic Sprint (U23)<\/strong> event, and by Khasib Sassan<\/strong>, Mohamed Najeeb Assal<\/strong>, and Zaki Boudar<\/strong> in the Olympic Sprint (Men’s Elite)<\/strong> event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As for the bronze medals, Malaak Mishaab<\/strong> earned one in the Scratch (U23 Women)<\/strong> event, and the team of Mohamed Najeeb Assal<\/strong> and Osama Mimouni<\/strong> won another in the Madison (Men’s Elite)<\/strong> event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Following these achievements, the national team temporarily increased its overall medal tally to 22 (4 gold, 7 silver, and 11 bronze) since the start of the competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Arab Track Cycling Championship, which is being held from December 25 to 28 in Cairo, features 8 Arab teams with a total of 150 cyclists, both male and female, from various age categories, competing in 44 events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It is worth noting that the Algerian team, consisting of 13 cyclists, including three women, arrived in the Egyptian capital last Sunday under the supervision of national coach Abdelbasset Hanachi<\/strong>, with assistance from Faisal Bounab<\/strong> and Fouad Hamza<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
