Algiers, January 16, 2025<\/strong> \u2013 The President of the People\u2019s National Assembly, Ibrahim Boughali, announced the launch of the first national contest for middle school students under the theme “Algeria and Just Causes”<\/em> on Thursday. This initiative represents a profound symbol of solidarity and justice\u2014values that Algeria has upheld throughout its history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the launch event, held at the headquarters of the People\u2019s National Assembly, Boughali described the contest as an innovative and unprecedented initiative. He emphasized its purpose of fostering creativity and opening new horizons for younger generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He stated, “This contest holds a deep symbolic meaning and embodies the values of solidarity and justice that Algeria has always championed. As a nation that endured the horrors of occupation and experienced the suffering of peoples aspiring for freedom and independence, Algeria deeply understands the significance of justice, liberty, and the right of nations to self-determination.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boughali also highlighted Algeria\u2019s unwavering commitment to defending just causes worldwide and advocating for equality in the application of international law, free from double standards. Explaining the goals of this educational initiative, Boughali noted that it aims to instill national awareness and nurture a sense of humanity among Algeria\u2019s youth, who represent the nation\u2019s future and the cornerstone of its continued progress. On a separate note, Boughali praised President Abdelmadjid Tebboune\u2019s initiative to launch a comprehensive national dialogue. The approach seeks to create optimal conditions for serving citizens, strengthening national unity, and bolstering Algeria\u2019s sovereignty and independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to addressing national initiatives, Boughali welcomed the recent ceasefire agreement in Gaza, calling it “a first step toward ending the suffering of the Palestinian people and a glimmer of hope for stability in the region.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He reaffirmed Algeria\u2019s steadfast position in advocating for a comprehensive and just resolution that guarantees Palestinians full rights, foremost among them the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
