Algiers<\/strong> \u2013 Ahmed Kherchi<\/strong>, Vice President of Algeria\u2019s Council of the Nation<\/strong>, Vice President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union<\/strong>, and Vice President of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds and Palestine<\/strong>, participated on Monday in the Executive Committee<\/strong> meeting of the association via video conference, according to a statement from the Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, the Secretary-General<\/strong> of the association presented a political report<\/strong> outlining its efforts, including condemnation campaigns and statements in support of the Palestinian cause<\/strong>. Members strongly denounced the U.S. sanctions<\/strong> imposed on the International Criminal Court (ICC)<\/strong> and the ban on UNRWA\u2019s operations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants also reaffirmed their absolute rejection<\/strong> of any attempts to forcibly displace the Palestinian people<\/strong> from their homeland and condemned efforts to perpetuate violence<\/strong> in the region instead of establishing a just and lasting peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, members welcomed the initiative launched by nine countries<\/strong> to establish the “The Hague Group”<\/strong>, aimed at ending the Zionist occupation<\/strong> of Palestinian territories and supporting the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination<\/strong> and the establishment of an independent state<\/strong>. This initiative is based on the principle of state responsibility<\/strong> in protecting inalienable rights, as enshrined in the United Nations Charter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During discussions, Kherchi<\/strong> emphasized the need for Palestinian unity<\/strong> as a first step<\/strong> in confronting the Zionist occupier<\/strong>. He also highlighted Algeria\u2019s diplomatic efforts<\/strong>, particularly since assuming its non-permanent seat<\/strong> in the UN Security Council<\/strong>, prioritizing the defense of just causes<\/strong>, especially Palestine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He reaffirmed that Algeria, under the leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, considers the Palestinian people and their ongoing revolution an inseparable part of the fate of the Arab nation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On organizational matters, the Executive Committee<\/strong> agreed on the urgent establishment of a Board of Trustees<\/strong> for the association and the mobilization of women and youth<\/strong> in support of the Palestinian cause<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the association’s President<\/strong> called for the activation of regional offices<\/strong>, as they are an essential part of the association\u2019s structural framework<\/strong>, according to the Council of the Nation\u2019s statement<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
