This is essential to ensure the project&#8217;s completion within the set deadlines while adhering to the required quality and technical standards, according to a statement from the ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This call was made during a meeting chaired by Rakhroukh on Thursday in <strong>Nouakchott<\/strong>, alongside the Mauritanian Minister of Equipment and Transport, Mr. Ahel Ould Veirik. The meeting marked the <strong>second session of the Algerian-Mauritanian Joint Committee<\/strong> tasked with overseeing the execution of the Tindouf-Zou\u00e9rat road project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his address, Rakhroukh emphasized that <strong>the project is a key pillar in fostering regional development<\/strong>, serving as a foundation for strengthening bilateral cooperation between Algeria and Mauritania. He also highlighted that the project extends beyond road construction, aiming to <strong>boost collaboration in other critical sectors<\/strong>, including health, trade, vocational training, and media. Among the planned initiatives are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>A multi-service lung disease clinic<\/strong> in Zou\u00e9rat<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>A vocational training center<\/strong> in Kiffa<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>A media center<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>A trade and marketing hub for Algerian products in Nouakchott<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The minister further noted that the inauguration of the <strong>border crossings and free trade zone<\/strong> connected to the Tindouf-Zou\u00e9rat road is not merely a physical achievement. Rather, it represents a <strong>strategic step toward a shared future<\/strong> between Algeria and Mauritania, aligned with the <strong>vision of both countries&#8217; leaders<\/strong> to enhance economic and trade relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Progress and Future Plans<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The second session of the joint committee follows up on the <strong>first session held in Algeria from December 11 to 16, 2022<\/strong>, during which a roadmap for the project&#8217;s study and implementation phases was established. After completing <strong>technical studies for the 840 km road<\/strong>, field visits were conducted from <strong>May 31 to June 7, 2023<\/strong>, to assess the agreed-upon route and coordinate with local authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Subsequently, <strong>on February 22, 2024, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and his Mauritanian counterpart visited Tindouf<\/strong> to officially launch the project.
