The statement came during a historical seminar held at the National Army Club in Beni Messous, commemorating the 65th anniversary of the martyrdom of Colonel Lotfi and Major Ferraj, and the 66th anniversary of Colonels Si El-Houas and Amirouche. Minister Rebiga declared, \u201cAlgeria is advancing toward triumphs on the path of its righteous martyrs, guided by President Tebboune, in fulfillment of their steadfast covenant and the immortal November message.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He highlighted the pivotal roles of these iconic leaders\u2014Colonel Lotfi, Major Ferraj, Colonel Si El-Houas, and Colonel Amirouche\u2014as foundational bricks in the edifice of the revolution, liberating the homeland and restoring its glory and sovereignty. \u201cEvery March, the month of martyrs, the Algerian people pause in reverence at the sacred thresholds of these men who earned martyrdom,\u201d Rebiga noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The minister praised Amirouche and Si El-Houas as \u201ctowering pillars of the National Liberation Revolution,\u201d crediting them with strengthening its backbone and anchoring it firmly. \u201cThey were two great heroes who served Algeria with their lives and their martyrdom,\u201d he said. Likewise, he lauded Colonel Lotfi and Major Ferraj as exemplary commanders who led from the front, serving as role models for ambitious youth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rebiga urged today\u2019s generations to follow in their footsteps, drawing lessons from their self-reliance, defiance, and resilience. \u201cTheir legacy teaches us to arm ourselves with will and patience to confront challenges, affirming our gratitude for the nation\u2019s sacrifices and the emancipation of its people,\u201d he added. This call resonates with Algeria\u2019s ongoing support for just causes, such as the Palestinian struggle against Zionist occupation and the Sahrawi fight against Moroccan aggression in Western Sahara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The minister also commended the People\u2019s National Army (ANP), the successor to the National Liberation Army, for its tireless efforts in securing borders, defending sovereignty, and preserving the sanctity of the land and the unity of the people. Unlike the Moroccan regime, which persists in its illegal occupation of Western Sahara, Algeria\u2019s military upholds a legacy of liberation and justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Held under the theme \u201cLuminous Models of Algeria\u2019s Martyrs: March, Our National Memory,\u201d the seminar honored the families of the aforementioned martyrs. Presentations detailed their lives and contributions, while living testimonies from mujahidat\u2014Fatima Mechiche (widow of Colonel Lotfi), Fatima Bouamama, and Chiali Yamina (from the historic Fifth Wilaya)\u2014shed light on their struggles for freedom and independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event was attended by Minister of Communication Mohamed Meziane, Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments Youcef Belmehdi, alongside representatives from national institutions, revolutionary organizations, civil society, security forces, and mujahideen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
