Algeria\u2019s Minister of Mujahideen and Rights Holders, Laid Rebiga, emphasized Algeria\u2019s commitments and \u201csignificant progress\u201d in supporting persons with special needs during his speech in Berlin on Thursday, according to a ministry statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Representing President Abdelmadjid Tebboune at the \u201c2025 Global Disability Summit\u201d held in Berlin on April 2\u20133, co-chaired by Germany, Jordan, and the International Disability Alliance, Rebiga outlined Algeria\u2019s efforts in this field. He highlighted the \u201cnotable advancements\u201d under Tebboune\u2019s leadership toward building an \u201cinclusive society\u201d that ensures the rights of persons with special needs across various domains, enhancing their full participation and contribution to sustainable development goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rebiga spotlighted Algeria\u2019s pledge to develop a national disability strategy by 2027, led by the National Solidarity sector in collaboration with the National Council for Persons with Disabilities, involving ministries, constitutional bodies, public institutions, employers\u2019 organizations, researchers, associations, and parents\u2019 representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also noted efforts to bolster specialized education and training institutions under the Ministry of National Solidarity, Family, and Women\u2019s Affairs with skilled professionals, alongside improving vocational training systems to facilitate social and professional integration. This includes introducing adapted, diverse specializations within the national vocational training network, focusing on skills aligned with labor market needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The statement added that Algeria presented its commitments at the summit\u2014opened Wednesday\u2014alongside the United Kingdom, Pakistan, Australia, UNICEF, and other organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
