Algiers – On Sunday, May 11, 2025, Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, received a phone call from Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, according to a statement from the ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the call, the Pakistani minister briefed his Algerian counterpart on \u201crecent developments in the Indian subcontinent, particularly the circumstances surrounding the ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India, aimed at de-escalating tensions and avoiding any escalation that could jeopardize security and stability in both countries and the region,\u201d the statement noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For his part, Attaf expressed Algeria\u2019s welcome of the agreement, commending \u201cthe mediation efforts that facilitated its achievement by prioritizing diplomacy and dialogue over tension and confrontation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
