Algiers \u2013<\/strong> In its August issue, El-Djeich<\/em> magazine underscored the profound cohesion, harmony, and solidarity between the Algerian people and their National People\u2019s Army (ANP), affirming that this bond will remain forever \u201ca thorn in the side of Algeria\u2019s enemies and a safeguard for its security, stability, progress, and victories.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an editorial titled \u201cReverence and Esteem\u201d<\/em>, the magazine noted that Algeria is marking the fourth anniversary of the National People\u2019s Army Day, established by the President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Minister of National Defence, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, three years ago. The date commemorates the transformation of the National Liberation Army into the ANP on August 4, 1962, adding another milestone to the nation\u2019s proud calendar of historic achievements, and honoring the Army\u2019s sacrifices since independence in building and defending a sovereign Algeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The magazine described the day as an occasion to \u201crenew determination and strengthen resolve to enhance the capabilities and operational readiness of our national defense system\u2014a path on which our armed forces have advanced with steadfastness and resolve.\u201d It is, the editorial added, \u201ca tribute from Algeria to its Army, and a celebration by Algerians of their sons serving in its ranks.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quoting the President of the Republic, El-Djeich<\/em> emphasized that the Army\u2019s close bond with the people enhances its prestige and strengthens its skills, thanks to the patriotism and dedication of its officers, soldiers, and all personnel. The progress and professionalism achieved, the magazine stressed, are the result of a comprehensive, integrated vision encompassing training, combat preparation, infrastructure development, and the acquisition of modern equipment, as well as the strategic deployment of units across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The publication highlighted the tangible results of this vision, particularly in counterterrorism, combating organized crime, and securing Algeria\u2019s long borders. These missions, carried out with dedication and skill, ensure the protection of the nation\u2019s sovereignty and the safety of its citizens\u2014fulfilling a sacred duty entrusted to the ANP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recalling the message of Army Chief of Staff, General Sa\u00efd Chanegriha, on the occasion of Army Day, the magazine noted his call for the ANP to remain \u201cthe shield of security and safety that protects Algeria at all times and under all circumstances, shielding it from threats and dangers in an unpredictable and volatile world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The editorial further stressed Algeria\u2019s dynamic transformation on multiple fronts and its return to a prominent role regionally and internationally, citing its non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council, its chairmanship of the African Union Peace and Security Council, and its leadership positions within key continental and international bodies. Algeria, the magazine noted, has become \u201can indispensable partner and a pivotal actor\u201d thanks to its principled diplomacy, commitment to international legality, and support for just causes, including Palestine and Western Sahara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While acknowledging the significant progress made, El-Djeich<\/em> warned that \u201cthe road ahead remains long and demanding\u201d amid accelerating global changes, calling for strong national unity and a cohesive internal front to meet current and future challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
