Algiers – On Sunday, August 31, 2025, economic expert Mouloud Khelif stated in Algiers that the fourth edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF), scheduled from September 4 to 10, 2025, in Algiers, will contribute to reinforcing Algeria\u2019s position as a pivotal hub for trade and investment in Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking at an information day on \u201cThe Activities and Stakes of the Intra-African Trade Fair 2025,\u201d inaugurated by the Minister of Communication, Mohamed Meziane, in the presence of the fair\u2019s commissioner, Ambassador Larbi Latrous, at the Abdelatif Rahal International Conference Center, Khelif emphasized that the event will solidify Algeria\u2019s standing as one of the continent\u2019s leading economies. He highlighted Algeria\u2019s potential to play a significant role in boosting trade and investment dynamics across Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, the fair will underscore Algeria\u2019s leadership in African integration and its contribution to achieving the African Union\u2019s Agenda 2063, Khelif added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event will also showcase Algeria\u2019s industrial, agricultural, and energy capabilities. Khelif noted the economic benefits Algeria could reap from the fair, including commercial and investment opportunities, promising partnerships, and the promotion of the tourism sector, while highlighting the innovative skills of Algerian youth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additionally, the fair will contribute to activating the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) by emphasizing its advantages, providing a real platform to overcome barriers to the movement of goods, capital, and people within the continent, and supporting the realization of the continental customs union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The fair is expected to drive discussions on strengthening continental economic cooperation, particularly through harmonizing trade policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Khelif described this edition as \u201cthe largest and most ambitious\u201d since the event\u2019s inception in 2018, given the anticipated volume of trade and investment contracts to be signed across various sectors and the participation of high-level delegations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
