The two-day event, organized in cooperation with the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (<strong>ALECSO<\/strong>), highlights the importance of protecting and promoting Arab cultural heritage in the face of mounting challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In her opening remarks at the Palace of Culture <em>Moufdi Zakaria<\/em>, Minister Bendouda stressed that safeguarding Arab heritage is a \u201ccentral and strategic issue,\u201d praising Algeria\u2019s role as the first host country for this pioneering ALECSO program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Heritage Under Threat Amid Conflicts<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The minister warned that armed conflicts not only endanger lives but also target the memory and cultural identity of nations. She condemned the <strong>systematic Israeli aggression against Palestinian cultural heritage<\/strong>, which has destroyed historic sites and monuments in an attempt to erase Palestinian identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cAlgeria\u2019s solidarity with Palestine is unwavering. Protecting Palestinian heritage is not only a moral duty but also a pan-Arab and humanitarian responsibility,\u201d Bendouda declared.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Algeria\u2019s Role in Arab Cultural Cooperation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Algeria continues to play a key role in ALECSO-led projects, from leading the file on <strong>Arab traditional games<\/strong> to contributing actively to the preservation of <strong>traditional pottery<\/strong>. Upcoming cultural events in Algeria include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Arab Opera Houses Forum<\/strong> (October 14\u201315, 2025)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Arab Intangible Heritage Forum<\/strong> registered with UNESCO (November 26\u201327, 2025)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Arab Forum on Archaeological Discoveries<\/strong> (December 2025)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The sessions also honored <strong>Professor Mounir Bouchenaki<\/strong>, a world-renowned Algerian heritage expert, whose lifelong contributions have enriched not only Algeria\u2019s heritage but the Arab cultural landscape as a whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Collective Arab Effort<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>ALECSO\u2019s Director of Culture, <strong>Hamid Ennoufli<\/strong>, emphasized that the Algiers session is the first station in a broader program to strengthen Arab cooperation in heritage protection.
