Algiers, Algeria<\/strong> \u2013 Firefighters across Algeria are battling a series of wildfires that have erupted in forests and scrubland across the country. As of 10:30 PM local time on Thursday, November 13, 2025, a total of 22 fires were reported, with firefighting teams still working to contain 11 of them. The remaining 11 fires have been either fully extinguished or are under close surveillance.<\/p>\n

In Algiers, Civil Protection units successfully extinguished brushfires near Rue Kadouche Abdelkader (Hydra) and Rue Mohamed Douar (Mohamed Belouizdad), preventing further damage.<\/p>\n

The province of Tipaza is experiencing the most significant fire activity, with ongoing blazes in several locations, including Douar Boukhlidja \u2013 Larhat (supported by ground and aerial resources), the Amarcha forest \u2013 Moussaou, the Choula forest \u2013 Beni Milleuk, and Douar El Ikhoua Mersli \u2013 Moussaou. Firefighting efforts are hampered by difficult terrain and the expanding reach of the flames.<\/p>\n

In Medea, firefighters continue to battle a forest fire in the Khazroune \u2013 El Hamdania area.<\/p>\n

Tizi Ouzou has seen several fires, with a blaze in the village of Sahel \u2013 Tigzirt completely extinguished. Surveillance continues in Ait Saada \u2013 Tadmait, Iguer Amrane \u2013 Beni Ziki, and Tizi Keffress \u2013 Amouchal.<\/p>\n

In Tlemcen, surveillance is ongoing after initial efforts to control fires in El Kedia \u2013 Tlemcen and the Ali Maghrane area \u2013 Souk Tleta. Firefighting operations continue in the village of Ouled Ben Ziane \u2013 Beni Mester.<\/p>\n

Three fires in Boumerdes have been brought under control, including those near National Road 05 \u2013 Thenia and Dhraa El Kahwa \u2013 Bordj Menaiel. Efforts continue to extinguish a fire in the village of Imekhlef \u2013 Taourga.<\/p>\n

Ain Defla is facing four fires in various stages of containment, with ongoing operations in Ben Youcef \u2013 Taschta Zegagha and Oued El Khemis \u2013 Ain Bouyahia. Fires in Titouamane and Sidi Boudjmil \u2013 Beni Houa are between the stages of extinguishing and surveillance.<\/p>\n

In Bejaia, firefighters are still working to contain a brushfire in the Ikhthathmane area \u2013 Boukhelifa.<\/p>\n
