In June 2022, he met with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to discuss bilateral relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The two leaders discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between Algeria and Venezuela in the areas of energy, trade, and <a class=\"dzsl-auto-link dzsl-internal\" data-dzsl=\"internal\" href=\"https:\/\/dzwatch.dz\/?cat=50\">investment<\/a>. They also expressed their support for each other&#8217;s efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maduro&#8217;s visit to Algeria is a sign of the close ties between the two countries. Algeria is a major oil and gas producer, while Venezuela is the world&#8217;s largest producer of crude oil.
