{"id":2424,"date":"2023-09-28T13:16:13","date_gmt":"2023-09-28T12:16:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dzwatch.net\/?p=2424"},"modified":"2026-09-04T00:42:27","modified_gmt":"2026-09-03T23:42:27","slug":"french-ambassador-to-algeria-describes-ties-between-the-two-countries-as-distinctive-and-exceptional","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dzwatch.dz\/?p=2424","title":{"rendered":"French Ambassador to Algeria Describes Ties Between the Two Countries as &#8220;Distinctive and Exceptional"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The French ambassador to <a class=\"dzsl-auto-link dzsl-internal\" data-dzsl=\"internal\" href=\"https:\/\/dzwatch.dz\/?cat=1\">Algeria<\/a>, St\u00e9phane Romatet, described the relationship between the two countries as &#8220;distinctive and exceptional&#8221; in terms of its strength.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a press statement following the submission of his credentials to <a class=\"dzsl-auto-link dzsl-internal\" data-dzsl=\"internal\" href=\"https:\/\/dzwatch.dz\/?p=65951\">President Tebboune<\/a> on Thursday, Romatet said that &#8220;the history shared by the two countries, as well as the future that requires us to work together as French and Algerians, make the relationship strong.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ambassador pointed out that the relationship between Algeria and Paris is characterized by a specificity that France has not seen with other countries in the world, considering that this constitutes a motivation for &#8220;progressing together and pushing our <a class=\"dzsl-auto-link dzsl-internal\" data-dzsl=\"internal\" href=\"https:\/\/dzwatch.dz\/?p=67199\">bilateral relations<\/a> towards a better future and achieving major joint projects under the framework of the New Algeria.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added: &#8220;We will work to establish a frank and honest dialogue between our two countries on the major challenges that affect the environment that brings us together.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The French diplomat also confirmed that his country &#8220;will rely on a relationship based on convergence to establish a common agenda, taking advantage of Algeria&#8217;s presence in the <a class=\"dzsl-auto-link dzsl-external\" data-dzsl=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/en\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">UN<\/a> Security Council, in order to strengthen dialogue on the biggest political issues.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the same context, he pointed out that this file was discussed with President Tebboune, who gave him a personal message from President Macron.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The French ambassador to Algeria, St\u00e9phane Romatet, described the relationship between the two countries as &#8220;distinctive and exceptional&#8221; in terms of its strength.
