Algiers, October 26, 2025<\/strong> \u2013 Algeria has achieved its ambitious goal of planting one million trees in a single day, marking a significant step towards a greener future. The announcement was jointly made by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Yacine Oualid, and the President of the \u201cGreen Algeria\u201d association, Fouad Maalla, following a nationwide mobilization effort.<\/p>\n

Minister Oualid, in a statement, hailed the achievement as more than just a number, emphasizing it as \u201ca national commitment and a promise to future generations for a greener and more beautiful Algeria.\u201d He highlighted his visits to four different provinces in a single day, where he witnessed firsthand the overwhelming participation of citizens eager to contribute to the cause.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom Ait Aaguacha in Tizi Ouzou, where we began the morning, to Sour El Ghozlane in Bouira, then Bordj Bou Arreridj, and finally to Maqtaa El Kheira in Algiers, where we continued planting until late at night,\u201d the Minister stated, \u201cI was moved by the sheer number of people who came to answer the call and rise to the challenge.\u201d<\/p>\n

He further noted that all 58 provinces across Algeria witnessed an unprecedented surge of public involvement. \u201cFamilies, youth, associations, public and private institutions \u2013 all united by a single goal: to make our country greener, to restore our forests ravaged by fires, and to protect our environment for generations to come.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat I witnessed today fills me with pride,\u201d<\/em> Minister Oualid declared. \u201cA strong spirit of solidarity proved that even the most ambitious goals are achievable with determination, will, and cooperation.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The Minister expressed his gratitude to every Algerian who planted a tree, acknowledging the dedicated efforts of the General Directorate of Forests, the \u201cGreen Algeria\u201d association, and all the ministers, civil and military bodies, executives, and partners who contributed to the success of this national endeavor. The achievement underscores Algeria’s commitment to environmental sustainability and its vision for a greener, more resilient future.<\/p>\n
