During a recent public appearance, Trump reportedly used disparaging language to describe Somalis, allegedly stating, “We don’t want them in our country.” He further added comments referencing violence and instability within Somalia. Responses within Somalia have been varied. Abdisalam Omar, a tribal elder from central Somalia, described Trump’s comments as “shockingly crude,” asserting the need for international condemnation.
