Al Mukalla, Hadramaut:<\/strong> A ceasefire agreement has been announced in Al Mukalla, the capital of Hadramaut Governorate, following mediation efforts overseen by a Hadrami committee and a delegation from the Saudi ‘Special Committee’. The agreement aims to de-escalate tensions in the eastern regions of the governorate.<\/p>\n

A statement released by the ‘Hadramaut Tribal Alliance’, led by Amr bin Habreesh, confirmed the agreement with the local authority, represented by Governor Salem al-Khanbashi. The Saudi delegation was present to witness the signing. The Alliance expressed its readiness to implement the terms of the agreement.<\/p>\n

The core of the agreement stipulates an immediate cessation of military, security, and media escalation. This truce will remain in effect while the mediation committee works towards a comprehensive resolution. As part of the initial steps, forces from the Tribal Alliance (Hadramaut Protection) will withdraw to a distance of at least one kilometer from the perimeter of oil companies in Al Masila. Simultaneously, forces protecting the companies will return to their previous positions, and employees of ‘Petro Masila’ will resume their duties.<\/p>\n

The agreement also addresses the redeployment of ‘Elite Forces’. Upon full implementation of the agreement, these forces will withdraw to a distance of three kilometers from their current locations. Furthermore, both parties are prohibited from deploying any military reinforcements during the implementation phase. A meeting between Governor al-Khanbashi and Sheikh bin Habreesh is scheduled to take place soon.<\/p>\n

Further provisions include the integration of personnel and officers from the ‘Hadramaut Protection’ forces into the oil company protection forces. Brigadier General Ahmed al-Maari will assume command of the unified force. Sheikh bin Habreesh will remain in his current position, retaining his personal guard.<\/em> Both parties have committed to implementing the terms of the agreement under the supervision of the mediation committee.<\/p>\n

The presence of the Saudi delegation underscores the Kingdom’s commitment to fostering stability in Yemen. <\/p>\n
