Algiers \u2013 Following the 2026 World Cup draw, Algeria’s national team coach, Vladimir Petkovic, has identified Argentina as the clear frontrunner in Group X. The group also includes Austria and Jordan.<\/p>\n
“We find ourselves in a very exciting group,” Petkovic stated in his initial reaction to the draw. “Naturally, Argentina stands out as the strongest team and the most likely to secure the top qualifying spot.”\n<\/p>\n
The Bosnian coach also acknowledged the strength of Austria. “Austria is a formidable team with a very capable and experienced coach,” he noted.<\/p>\n
Regarding Jordan, Petkovic commented on their progress. “Jordan is a team that is constantly developing and has impressively qualified for the 2026 World Cup.”\n<\/p>\n
Despite the challenges, Petkovic expressed confidence in Algeria’s ability to compete. “We will fight hard against Austria and Jordan. We have the potential to achieve the results needed to guarantee our progression to the second round,” he asserted.<\/p>\n
Looking ahead to their opening match against Argentina, Petkovic emphasized a positive mindset. “We will not approach the match against Argentina with a defeated attitude.
