Minister of Labour, Employment, and Social Security, Abdelhak Saihi, chaired an evaluation meeting yesterday dedicated to reviewing the performance of the occupational health institution, \u2018PRESTIMED.\u2019 This initiative aligns with the ministry’s ongoing efforts to monitor the performance of sector-affiliated bodies and enhance their service-oriented role, according to a statement released by the ministry today.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, the Minister received a comprehensive presentation from the Director-General of \u2018PRESTIMED,\u2019 outlining the institution’s achievements. The presentation emphasized results in key areas such as health prevention, periodic medical examinations, and early diagnosis of occupational diseases.<\/p>\n
The presentation also covered agreements established with numerous economic and administrative institutions in the field of occupational medicine, in addition to the institution’s 2026 action plan, highlighting areas for development. <\/p>\n
Following the presentation, Minister Saihi provided directives to the institution’s executives, stressing the need to maintain positive momentum, expand the institution’s reach across the country’s various provinces, and accelerate digital transformation by adopting modern technologies in medical and administrative management.<\/p>\n
Saihi emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts to improve the quality of medical and preventive services provided to workers across all sectors. He also highlighted the crucial role of early diagnosis of occupational diseases as a cornerstone of prevention and worker health protection. Furthermore, he called for the development of effective digital platforms for data exchange between the institution and its various partners.<\/p>\n
The directives also included integrating business intelligence techniques to analyze health data for informed decision-making, ensuring the security and protection of medical data in accordance with national data protection standards, and integrating the institution’s information systems with other sector-wide systems. Enhanced coordination with public health institutions to unify efforts in preventing occupational diseases was also stressed.<\/p>\n
In closing, the Minister reaffirmed the importance of advancing digitalization through the development of new digital platforms and services. He also called for expanding \u2018PRESTIMED\u2019s\u2019 activities to additional provinces to ensure comprehensive coverage across the country, thereby strengthening occupational health and prevention within the workplace.<\/p>\n
