TACHRIFT<\/strong> – The Ministry of Veterans and Rights Holders organized a historical conference today to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the passing of Mujahid Hocine A\u00eft Ahmed, highlighting his national and humanitarian dimensions.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the event, which was attended by national figures, representatives of the revolutionary family, university professors, and students, the Minister of Veterans and Rights Holders, Abdelmalek Tachrift, described A\u00eft Ahmed as a ‘national figure<\/em>‘ who embodied a lofty national project founded on national unity, fidelity to the revolution, freedom, and dignity. He also recalled President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s decision to name the Tizi Ouzou stadium after the iconic figure, transforming the sports complex into a ‘living testament to his greatness and a tribute to his national journey<\/em>.’<\/p>\n

Tachrift emphasized that this ‘presidential honor<\/em>‘ recognized a national leader who placed Algeria above all else, embodying a vibrant and enduring national memory that would not be forgotten. He added that Ait Ahmed\u2019s principles would remain a beacon for future generations, reminding them that struggle unites history, principles, and the highest human values.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on A\u00eft Ahmed’s militant journey during the conference, titled ‘Hocine A\u00eft Ahmed, a Historical Figure with National and Humanitarian Dimensions<\/em>,’ the Minister recalled the hijacking of the plane carrying him and his companions on October 22, 1956. He noted that this act, recorded as the first hijacking in the history of international civil aviation, ‘revealed not only the arrogance and brutality of French colonialism but also exposed the betrayal of the neighboring western country, which contributed to facilitating this plot against the leaders of the liberation revolution.<\/em>‘<\/p>\n

Tachrift further stressed that national memory is ‘our impregnable fortress and the sacred link between our glorious past, our ambitious present, and our promising future.<\/em>‘ He asserted that Mujahid Hocine A\u00eft Ahmed will remain a school for generations and a beacon guiding them on the path of sacrifice, dedication, and sovereignty.<\/p>\n
