This approval comes after a review of the deal in light of Dutch national security considerations, Dutch Government Approves Chip Company Sale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bloomberg News Agency reported sources saying that the Dutch government does not see Nexperia&#8217;s acquisition of New Technology as a threat to Dutch national security, as the technology is not dual-use for both civilian and military purposes. This move indicates the Netherlands&#8217; continued openness to Chinese investments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this year, the Dutch authorities used a new law to investigate Nexperia&#8217;s acquisition of the Dutch firm New Energy. The new law gives the government the power to reject foreign companies&#8217; acquisitions of Dutch companies for national security reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New Energy produces small chips that facilitate companies in operating their devices with the energy they collect.
