It is also a result of the attention the Algerian authorities pay to civil society, which has come to play a growing role in social, cultural, and economic fields.<\/p>\n<p>The Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations is a subsidiary body of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
