EU Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas emphasized on Tuesday the need to find diplomatic ways to keep the Strait of Hormuz open.<\/p>\n
Kallas stated in an interview that “no one is ready to put their people at risk in the Strait of Hormuz.”<\/p>\n
She added, “We must find diplomatic ways to keep this strait open so that we do not face a food crisis, a fertilizer crisis, or an energy crisis as well.”<\/p>\n
At the same time, U.S. President Donald Trump called on allies to send warships to the Strait of Hormuz to secure passage amid the war on Iran.<\/p>\n
The Oil Minister stated on Tuesday that Baghdad is in contact with Iran to allow the passage of some oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n
This contact comes as part of Iraq’s efforts to mitigate the impact of crude export disruptions following the latest attacks on oil tankers in Iraqi territorial waters.<\/p>\n
Iraqi Oil Minister Hayan Abdul-Ghani said in a video statement released on Monday that Iraq is also seeking to resume operations of a halted pipeline that allows oil to be pumped directly to the Turkish port of Ceyhan without passing through the Kurdistan region.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
