Sofiane Chaib, the Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of the National Community Abroad, participated today via video conference in the opening ceremony of a forum bringing together a group of Algerian medical elites from both inside and outside the country in the province of El Oued. According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the forum was attended by Governor Bahloul Larbi, along with representatives from the Ministry of Health and local authorities.<\/p>\n
This activity is part of the commemoration of World Health Day, observed on April 5 each year. On this occasion, a group of Algerian doctors residing abroad traveled to participate in a meeting initiated by the Algerian Consulate in Nice, which also saw high-quality participation from various medical competencies and teams active in El Oued province.<\/p>\n
In his speech, the Secretary of State noted that this initiative comes in the context of activating the outcomes of the virtual meeting held on October 27, 2025, which brought him together with the Minister of Health, Mohamed Seddik Ait Messoudan, and a group of medical staff from the diaspora.<\/p>\n
This meeting serves as a concrete implementation of the directives from the country’s high authorities aimed at strengthening the involvement of national competencies abroad in national development processes, including the health sector. The Algerian state places great importance on this sector, as reflected in the significant efforts made to develop the national health system, which has positively impacted Algeria’s position as a regional and continental leader in the United Nations Human Development Index.<\/p>\n
In this context, the Secretary of State called on the participating medical competencies to move toward permanent and effective communication by engaging in concrete projects, in line with the national policy adopted in the field of health.<\/p>\n
He also emphasized that organizing this forum on World Health Day is not merely a symbolic occasion but represents a practical transition from situational communication to permanent interaction based on integration and joint action.
