Under the new law, the country&#8217;s territorial division now consists of 69 provinces and 1,541 municipalities.<\/p>\n<p>The law stipulates that the authorities of the original provinces will continue to exercise all powers and obligations related to managing the interests and facilities of the newly created provinces during the period necessary for the installation and organization of their executive councils. Governors of the original provinces are required to gradually transfer these powers and obligations to the governors of the newly created provinces by a deadline of December 31, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the governor of the original province will continue to implement the primary and supplementary budgets approved for the 2026 fiscal year for the entire territory forming that province.
