Farmers and agricultural investors in El Meniaa Province welcomed President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s decisions to enhance agricultural mechanization on Monday, stating that these measures will improve the sector’s productivity and reduce costs during the harvest season.<\/p>\n
Mohsen Nadir, owner of a farm specializing in grain cultivation in the municipality of Hassi El Gara, stated that these measures reflect a “genuine will to support farmers.” He noted that they would help accelerate harvesting operations and reduce losses, particularly given the increasing demand for equipment during the harvesting and threshing periods.<\/p>\n
He added that harvest periods experience significant pressure on agricultural machinery, making its timely availability a “decisive factor in ensuring crops are harvested under the best conditions.”<\/p>\n
For his part, agricultural investor Cham Bourti praised these decisions, considering them a “strong incentive for a distinguished start to this season, especially in light of expectations for high yields per hectare for grain.”<\/p>\n
In the same context, agricultural expert Sofiane Tibaoui, director of an agricultural studies office, pointed out that agricultural mechanization represents the “main pillar for modernizing the agricultural sector and increasing production efficiency.” He highlighted the importance of the recent decisions, which he said establish a “clear roadmap based on breaking bureaucratic constraints and replacing them with scientific and technical standards that ensure support is directed toward productive farmers.”<\/p>\n
He noted that the establishment of regional and provincial cooperatives for agricultural mechanization will “contribute to organizing the use and maintenance of heavy equipment and ease the burden on farmers,” while “placing mechanization at the service of the sector to create a real economic dynamic in agricultural provinces.”<\/p>\n
Many farmers in the region expressed their satisfaction with these measures, which are expected to facilitate access to agricultural equipment and improve working conditions.
