{"id":60465,"date":"2026-05-13T07:53:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-13T06:53:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dzwatch.dz\/?p=60465"},"modified":"2026-05-13T07:53:14","modified_gmt":"2026-05-13T06:53:14","slug":"angolan-president-tours-algerias-fouka-2-desalination-plant-in-tipaza","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dzwatch.dz\/?p=60465","title":{"rendered":"Angolan President Tours Algeria&#8217;s &#8216;Fouka 2&#8217; Desalination Plant in Tipaza"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Angolan President Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o visited the &#8216;Fouka 2&#8217; seawater desalination plant in Tipaza province on Tuesday, as part of his ongoing state visit to Algeria.<\/p>\n<p>The tour, conducted in the presence of Minister of Hydrocarbons Mohamed Arkab, Minister of Water Resources Ounas Bouzegza, and Sonatrach CEO Noureddine Daoudi, showcased the facility \u2014 built entirely through national expertise and Algerian companies.<\/p>\n<p>Daoudi told dzwatch that Algeria has become Africa&#8217;s top producer of desalinated water, second in the Arab world, and second across the Mediterranean. He added that production capacity will rise from 3.7 million m\u00b3\/day to 5.6 million m\u00b3\/day by 2030.<\/p>\n<p>Algeria has also launched a new national program in 2025 to build six additional desalination plants along its coastline, adding 1.8 million m\u00b3\/day in future capacity.
