{"id":60537,"date":"2026-05-14T11:30:05","date_gmt":"2026-05-14T10:30:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dzwatch.dz\/?p=60537"},"modified":"2026-05-14T11:30:05","modified_gmt":"2026-05-14T10:30:05","slug":"anp-weekly-report-major-blows-against-drug-traffickers-and-illegal-gold-miners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dzwatch.dz\/?p=60537","title":{"rendered":"ANP Weekly Report: Major Blows Against Drug Traffickers and Illegal Gold Miners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Algeria&#8217;s National People&#8217;s Army (ANP) has delivered a powerful series of security operations across the country between May 6 and 12, 2026, dzwatch can reveal.<\/p>\n<p>In counter-terrorism efforts, ANP units apprehended <strong>11 individuals<\/strong> providing support to terrorist groups during separate operations nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>In the fight against organized crime, joint ANP forces \u2014 coordinating with security services \u2014 arrested <strong>56 drug traffickers<\/strong> and foiled attempts to smuggle <strong>252 kg of cannabis resin<\/strong> across the Moroccan border, alongside <strong>3.2 kg of cocaine<\/strong> and <strong>1,473,878 psychotropic tablets<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, ANP units detained <strong>124 individuals<\/strong> involved in illegal gold prospecting, seizing 33 vehicles, 122 generators, 99 pneumatic hammers, and quantities of raw gold ore and mining equipment.<\/p>\n<p>Further operations yielded the arrest of 12 additional suspects, the seizure of automatic weapons, hunting rifles, 60,275 liters of fuel, and 15 tons of food intended for smuggling.<\/p>\n<p>Coast guard units also intercepted illegal migration attempts, rescuing <strong>46 people<\/strong> from makeshift boats, while <strong>251 undocumented migrants<\/strong> of various nationalities were detained across national territory.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Algeria&#8217;s National People&#8217;s Army (ANP) has delivered a powerful series of security operations across the country between May 6 and 12, 2026, dzwatch can reveal.
