Algeria’s readiness to host the Intra-African Trade Fair 2025 underscores its commitment to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s strategy aimed at enhancing African integration and supporting economic cooperation across the continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the opening ceremony of the fourth edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) 2025, Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, emphasized Algeria’s preparedness and its possession of the necessary infrastructure, logistical capabilities, and organizational prowess to lead this significant continental economic event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Zitouni highlighted Algeria’s strategic position as a vital crossroads between Africa, Europe, and Asia, positioning it as a gateway for trade exchanges and qualifying it to become a true economic hub in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He pointed out that the comprehensive economic reforms initiated by the President have borne fruit, leading to a positive trade balance and a growing trend in non-hydrocarbon exports, reflecting the diversification of Algeria’s economy and job creation across various sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In line with efforts to promote African economic integration, Algeria has embarked on opening Algerian banks and permanent exhibitions in several African countries as a first step, in addition to establishing African Free Trade Zones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Algeria’s expansion of transportation networks, including the completion of the African Unity Highway linking Algeria to Lagos, has positioned the country as the second-largest in Africa in terms of completed road networks, spanning over 128,000 kilometers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Moreover, plans to connect Algerian ports in the north with the African hinterland will serve as a key axis for enhancing intra-regional trade and economic activities between North and South Africa, especially following the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Minister Zitouni emphasized that Africa’s abundant resources serve as a significant incentive for establishing a resilient economy integrated into global value chains, a goal pursued by African leaders through intensified economic activities across the continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
