Despite holding significant oil and gas reserves, Algeria has demonstrated a clear commitment to clean energy, advancing large-scale solar power projects and key renewable investment programs.<\/p>\n
Algeria targets 15 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity by 2035, with several projects already connected to the national electricity grid. Two new solar power stations \u2014 each with 200 MW capacity \u2014 came online in April 2026 in the wilayas of M’ghair and Biskra, with total grid capacity expected to reach 1,400 MW before year’s end.<\/p>\n
