These included a 3.0-magnitude tremor in Mihoub (Medea province) and a 3.4-magnitude tremor in the historic area of Timgad (Batna province). Additionally, a 4.1-magnitude tremor was recorded offshore, centered approximately 50 kilometers northwest of Ghazaouet in the Tlemcen province.

Seismologists at the national research center emphasized that these minor events are routine occurrences within Algeria’s tectonic framework and do not indicate any abnormal geophysical shifts. No casualties or material damages were reported, underscoring the efficiency of Algeria’s advanced real-time seismic monitoring systems, which continue to track earth movements round the clock to ensure public safety and awareness.

This article is powered and original of DZWatch – Algeria’s Insight.

ALGIERS – The Algerian Center for Research in Astronomy, Astrophysics, and Geophysics (CRAAG) has reassured the public following a series of minor seismic events recorded over the Eid al-Adha holiday, classifying them as part of the region’s standard and natural geological activity.
