The signing ceremony was attended by key figures from both nations, including the Congolese Ambassador to Algeria, the CEOs of Sonatrach and the National Agency for the Valorization of Hydrocarbon Resources (ALNAFT), and the head of the Hydrocarbons Regulatory Authority, alongside senior officials and experts from the energy sectors of both countries.<\/p>\n<p>This pact is the culmination of fruitful bilateral discussions held during the Congolese minister&#39;s working visit to Algeria. It underscores a shared commitment to enhance cooperation and expand partnership opportunities within the hydrocarbon industry, aiming to serve the economic and developmental interests of both nations and contribute to a more integrated African energy landscape.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement establishes a permanent framework for advancing bilateral collaboration across the entire hydrocarbon value chain. This includes the exchange of expertise, best practices, and the promotion of synergy among national entities and companies operating in the sector.<\/p>\n<p>Key areas of cooperation outlined in the accord encompass joint ventures in exploration and production, the development of oil and gas fields, refining and petrochemicals, as well as the marketing and distribution of petroleum products and liquefied petroleum gas. It also extends to related petroleum and logistical services.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the agreement places a strong emphasis on human capital development through training programs, capacity building, and the exchange of experts. It aims to leverage Algeria&#39;s extensive experience in technology transfer and skill enhancement, particularly through its specialized training institutions.<\/p>\n<p>Cooperation will also focus on developing energy infrastructure, pipeline transportation, storage solutions, technical regulation and monitoring, and the management of geological data and hydrocarbon information systems. Additionally, there will be an exchange of expertise in industrial safety, health, environmental protection, and risk management.<\/p>\n<p>In response to the evolving global energy landscape, both parties have committed to advancing collaboration in digitalization, innovation, artificial intelligence, and research and development. These efforts are designed to boost performance, optimize project efficiency, and enhance the competitiveness of the energy sector in both Algeria and the DRC.<\/p>\n<p>Both nations reaffirmed their dedication to coordinated action within the framework of the African Petroleum Producers&#39; Organization (APPO) and the African Union.
