Under the supervision of Mr. Saleh Goujil, President of the Council of the Nation, a group of trainee students from the Higher Military School of Information and Communication visited the Council headquarters on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. The visit, part of the Council’s open doors initiative, was highlighted by Mr. Goujil’s commendation of the “tremendous efforts of the People’s National Army, the legitimate heir of the National Liberation Army, in maintaining national sovereignty and territorial unity.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The President of the Council emphasized that the founders of the nation named it the “People’s National Army” right after independence to symbolically and historically ensure its perpetual connection to the nation and the people, differentiating it from regular armies around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also praised the Army’s training strategy for preparing and developing its officers, acknowledging them as “the present and the future.” Mr. Goujil further highlighted the “strategic role” of the media, especially in wartime, noting its critical importance as observed in current global conflicts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During their visit, the trainee group toured various facilities and spaces within the Council and received detailed explanations about the history, structure, functions, and role of this constitutional legislative institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
