Algeria has officially launched 'San3a' (Craftsmanship), a pioneering national vocational training program designed to equip young Algerians with essential skills and foster a culture of craftsmanship. The initiative, spearheaded by the Minister of Vocational Training and Professional Education, Nassima Rahhab, carries the empowering slogan: "What are you waiting for… to learn a craft!?"<\/p>\n
The 'San3a' program is the first of its kind in Algeria, targeting individuals aged 15 to 27, including both students and university graduates. It offers a modern, hands-on training pathway aimed at instilling an appreciation for traditional crafts and manual labor, while simultaneously developing practical professional competencies.<\/p>\n
The program will initially focus on six core trades: painting, architectural electricity, plastering and BA13 (a type of plasterboard installation), plumbing, welding, and refrigeration. This selection is based on a strategic assessment of national labor market demands, ensuring that the skills acquired are directly relevant to current employment needs.<\/p>\n
The pedagogical approach emphasizes practical, field-based training and direct mentorship, with the goal of rapid and effective skill acquisition to facilitate swift professional integration. Furthermore, the program aims to open avenues for self-employment and the creation of small enterprises.<\/p>\n
Enrollment for 'San3a' will commence across all of Algeria's provinces via a dedicated digital platform from May 31st to June 4th, 2026. Training centers are scheduled to welcome trainees from June 15th to July 30th, 2026, aligning with the summer break to maximize participation.<\/p>\n
