Algiers – The President of the Algerian Red Crescent, Ibtisam Hamlawi, announced today in Algiers the preparation of an “intensive” program within its humanitarian missions and solidarity activities, in anticipation of the upcoming summer season and the social back-to-school period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During her participation in a forum hosted by “El Mujahid” newspaper, Ms. Hamlawi explained that the Algerian Red Crescent is preparing an “intensive” program for the upcoming summer and social re-entry season. The program includes various initiatives, such as a national campaign under the slogan “Watering” which involves distributing drinking water to road users during high temperatures, alongside a quick-response plan for emergencies, particularly involving the distribution of food, medicines, mattresses, and blankets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Regarding the upcoming social re-entry, the official mentioned that the Algerian Red Crescent is preparing a support program for 100,000 families nationwide, especially involving the distribution of equipped school bags, as well as robes and clothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additionally, she highlighted the achievements of this organization during the last Ramadan, which included distributing over 152,000 food parcels to needy families across the country, setting up 226 iftar restaurants including 3 large tents, and organizing mass circumcision operations and distributing Eid clothing to children from needy families and orphans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On another note, Ms. Hamlawi emphasized that the Algerian Red Crescent continues to organize training courses in first aid, which have reached — as she mentioned — 5,000 beneficiaries nationwide. She referred to the Red Crescent’s first aid training center, which is equipped with specialized facilities for this field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, the spokesperson confirmed that the Algerian Red Crescent is also continuing its program related to opening centers for supporting children with autism in several provinces of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
