DZWatch has learned that Algerian police forces in Khenchela, eastern Algeria, have successfully dismantled a major international drug smuggling operation, intercepting over two quintals of processed cannabis originating from Morocco. The meticulously planned operation led to the arrest of three individuals believed to be part of an organized criminal network with international links.<\/p>\n
According to statements from the Algerian General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the operation unfolded in two distinct phases earlier this week. The first phase saw operational units in Khenchela seize 131 kilograms of processed cannabis, which was cleverly concealed within a commercial vehicle. Two suspects with prior judicial records were apprehended during this initial intervention.<\/p>\n
Following extensive field investigations, detectives successfully identified a third suspect. This individual was subsequently arrested in Constantine, where authorities discovered an additional 111 kilograms of processed cannabis. This illicit consignment was also expertly hidden within a second commercial vehicle. All three suspects have been presented before the Public Prosecutor at the Khenchela Court, awaiting further legal proceedings.<\/p>\n
