{"id":6435,"date":"2024-05-17T11:04:05","date_gmt":"2024-05-17T10:04:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dzwatch.dz\/?p=6435"},"modified":"2026-09-04T02:43:58","modified_gmt":"2026-09-04T01:43:58","slug":"algeria-urges-un-security-council-to-reconsider-palestine-membership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dzwatch.dz\/?p=6435","title":{"rendered":"Algeria Urges UN Security Council to Reconsider Palestine Membership"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has called on the UN <a class=\"dzsl-auto-link dzsl-internal\" data-dzsl=\"internal\" href=\"https:\/\/dzwatch.dz\/?p=63866\">Security Council<\/a> to reconsider the membership of the State of <a class=\"dzsl-auto-link dzsl-internal\" data-dzsl=\"internal\" href=\"https:\/\/dzwatch.dz\/?cat=48\">Palestine<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In his speech at the opening of the 33rd Arab Summit in Manama, Bahrain, delivered by Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, <a class=\"dzsl-auto-link dzsl-internal\" data-dzsl=\"internal\" href=\"https:\/\/dzwatch.dz\/?p=62619\">President Tebboune<\/a> emphasized the missed opportunities by the Security Council and the international community to do justice to the Palestinian people and uphold their rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">President Tebboune welcomed the increasing momentum of official recognitions of the State of Palestine and the growing support for its full membership in the <a class=\"dzsl-auto-link dzsl-external\" data-dzsl=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/en\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">United Nations<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He stated, &#8220;The historic resolution adopted by our UN General Assembly a few days ago embodies a historical truth, a reality finally acknowledged by the entire international community.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The core of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, according to President Tebboune, lies in undermining the Palestinian national project.
